1. Are trailers allowed to park on the street?

Sec. 52-122 prohibits the parking of a trailer with a capacity of three-quarter ton or larger on any street between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. All other trailers can be parked on the street as long as they are parked in accordance with applicable traffic statutes.

2. Can I raise chickens or roosters in Rogers' city limits?

Sec. 6-228 through 6-230 deals with fowl inside the city limits. In a residential zone, a resident is allowed to have up to four hens (no roosters) after obtaining the proper permit from Rogers Animal Services. The fowl must be maintained in a suitable enclosure, which shall be kept in a clean, sanitary condition. 3. What can I do if my neighbor will not fix their part of a shared fence?

This is a civil matter between the property owners and not a violation of city code.

4. My neighbor has a dead tree in their yard and I'm afraid it will fall and damage my property. Does my neighbor have to remove it?

Yes. Sec. 18-261 allows the city, if the tree constitutes a hazard to life and property, or harbors insects or disease which constitutes a potential threat to other trees within the city, to require the property owner to remove the tree.

5. What should I do to report someone dumping trash or tree limbs on my property?

7. How tall can my neighbor's grass grow before they have to mow?

There is no established minimum height. Per Sec. 18-93, a place, condition or thing is unsightly when it is in public view and offends the then-prevailing standard of the community as a whole…”

8. I've reported my neighbor for not mowing, why isn't the yard mowed yet?

Property owners are given seven business days to remedy a violation of tall grass. This process includes the mailing of a registered letter to the property owner. It is only after seven days after notification that the city can issue a citation or begin the abatement process.

9. A neighboring business does not have their dumpster emptied as frequently as needed, and my customers are complaining about the flies and the smell. What can be done?

This could be a violation of Sec. 18-2 Rogers Code of Ordinances, which prohibits corruption of the atmosphere with vile, foul or offensive odors. Please notify code enforcement at 479-621-1196 or online via "report a concern" Section 18-2 Rogers Code of Ordinances

10. My neighbor parks their car in the yard, is this legal?

Sec. 52-140 prohibits the parking of a vehicle between the residence and the street right-of-way in any residential zone. This only applies to the front of the residence (the parking of a vehicle beside or behind a residence is not a violation of this ordinance).

11. Can I report my POA's covenant violations to the City for enforcement?

No. Code Enforcement only enforces city ordinances. POA covenants are a civil matter that can only be enforced by legal action from the POA in a court.
