Curbside Recycling Collection

LRS Recycling Ad

LRS provides weekly curbside recycling. The following rules shall be followed to have recycles collected:

1. Time and Location

  • Materials for recycling collection must be placed at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on the day of your scheduled collection
  • Cart must be less than three feet from the street curb/road
  • Your cart must be at least three feet from your trash bin
  • Your cart must be at least six feet from a mailbox
  • Your cart must be at least ten feet from a fire hydrant
  • Your cart lid must be facing the road (wheels towards the house)
  • Cardboard boxes need to be cut to fit into recycling containers to allow for the lid to close properly and also to prevent material from being wedged

2. Acceptable Curbside Items

  • Number 1 Plastics (PET) Pop / Soda Bottles
  • Number 2 Plastics White (HDPE) Natural Milk or Tea Jugs
  • Number 2 Plastics Color (HDPE) Colored Laundry Bottles
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Chip Board (Cereal Boxes)
  • Office Paper
  • Magazines
  • Newspaper
  • Telephone Books
  • Tin Cans

3. Non-Acceptable Curbside Items

  • Batteries
  • Carpet
  • Florescent Light Bulbs
  • Garden Hoses
  • Glass*
  • Hazardous Waste Materials
  • Medical Supplies
  • Oil
  • Packaging Foam
  • Packaging Peanuts
  • Pizza Boxes
  • Red Plastic
  • Styrofoam
  • Wax Cardboard
  • Window Blinds

*Glass is accepted at the Rogers Recycling Center.
