Professional Development

Leadership training ensures all members are equipped with the training and information necessary to be leaders and effective supervisors and prepares them for promotional opportunities.

The Rogers Fire Department strongly encourages upward mobility in terms of rank and professional development and education. The following are department-created trainings designed to meet individual member needs as well as provide a foundation for succession planning:

• Officer Development Academy

• EMS Leadership Development Meeting

• Fire Equipment Operator Academy

• Future Company Officer Task Book

• Future Chief Officer Task Book

• Battalion Chief and Substitute Boot Camp

The Training Division will typically host officer development classes required for promotions, including IFSAC Instructor I, Officer I, Officer II, and Incident Safety Officer. Due to demand, these classes are offered at additional times in the region. In addition, professional development programs such as the Managing Officer and the Executive Fire Officer Program through the National Fire Academy are encouraged and available to department members. The department will also sponsor two professional credentials for members willing to undergo the process.
