City of Rogers- ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Notice is hereby given that Nabholz Construction will be accepting subcontractor sealed bids for furnishing all materials, labor, tools and equipment needed for the reconstruction of the Project identified as: S. Arkansas Street Gateway – Oak to Chestnut, located in Rogers, Arkansas.
The project consists of selective site demolition, earthwork, concrete, asphalt, landscaping, site electrical, water line, storm, and sanitary sewer. This will include, but not be limited to: demolition as required; undercut and remove unsuitable materials; replacement of unsuitable materials with specified material; subgrade preparation; base course construction; concrete pavement course; asphaltic concrete hot-mix binder course; asphaltic concrete hot-mix surface course; milling and inlay of existing pavement as indicated on the drawings; striping; signage; pedestrian pole installation; and all other items identified in the Contract Documents or required to complete the work. Additional work includes erosion and sediment control; maintenance of traffic; water utility modifications, water, storm, and sewer pipe installation.
Bids will be accepted at the offices of the Rogers City Hall, City of Rogers, City Clerk, 301 West Chestnut, Rogers, AR 72756, until 2:00 p.m. local time on 06/02/2020 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the above time and date will be rejected. A virtual meeting link will be provided to plan holders who do not wish to attend in person and virtual attendance is encouraged.
Bidders shall make such inspection and studies of the site of the work as to familiarize themselves with all conditions to be encountered.
Bidders must submit proposals in a sealed envelope addressed to: City of Rogers, City Clerk, 301 West Chestnut, Rogers, AR 72756. Envelope containing the bid should be marked “BID FOR South Arkansas Street Gateway Oak to Chestnut”, Name of the Bidding Company, Bidding Company primary contact person, and cell phone number. Bids will be read aloud publicly at city hall. A bid security (Bid Bond) of 5% for proposals greater than $20,000 is required to be included with the proposal. A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 2:00 p.m. on 05/14/2020, as a virtual meeting. A virtual meeting link will be provided to plan holders. Failure to attend this Pre-Bid Conference will result in a Bidder not being allowed to submit a bid for this project. All RFI’s will be due by 2:00 p.m. local time on 05/15/2020.
The City of Rogers hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each for 100 percent of the contract amount, as security for the faithful performance of the work and the payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the work. The successful bidder will also need to be licensed in the state of Arkansas and obtain a business license in the City of Rogers.
No Bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for at least 60 days. The Owner reserves the right to accept any bid or bid alternate, to reject any or all bids, or to waive any informalities in bids received where such acceptance, rejections, or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner. All bids must be in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared and issued by CEI Engineering Associates, Inc. and Nabholz Construction Services.
