Deputy Chief William Hyde


Deputy Fire Chief William Hyde joined the Rogers Fire Department in 2013. He currently serves the city as the fire marshal and chief building official.  He is responsible for administration and leadership of the Community Risk Reduction Division of the Department.  He began his career as a firefighter with the City of Bentonville in 1998. While there he served in several capacities and rose to the rank of division chief.  Chief Hyde has a distinguished career including designations from the Center for Public Safety Excellence as Chief Fire Officer, Chief EMS Officer, and Chief Training Officer. He has also been granted Fellow status by the Institution of Fire Engineers in the United Kingdom. He currently serves as vice chair on the board of directors for the Executive Fire Officer’s Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs. In addition to his passion for the advancement of fire and emergency medical services, he is a committed life-long learner. Chief Hyde is a Graduate of the Fire Service Executive Development Institute (Leesburg, VA) and the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy (Emmitsburg, MD). He received his Master of Business Administration with specialization in leadership & ethics from John Brown University (Siloam Springs, AR) and a Bachelors of Science in Public Safety Management from Franklin University (Columbus, OH). He also holds Associate Degrees in Fire Science Administration & Paramedicine.  Chief Hyde has previously served as the Deputy Chief of Special Operations and Training from 2013 to 2018.
