Community Engagement Kickoff For Frisco Park Redesign

ROGERS, AR- The public is invited to participate in the first of several input sessions for the redesign of Frisco Park. Ross Barney Architects of Chicago, IL will be in Rogers on May 10th to collect feedback from the community to help guide the design of the park. The meeting will take place at the Downtown Rogers Farmers Market, from 4-7 p.m. There will be activities for kids with engagement sessions led by Ross Barney Architects. The event will be a drop- in format with the opportunity for discussion and interactive brainstorming exercises.

“We’re excited to hear from folks on what they want in this redesign. This park is such an important part of our community, and we want to make sure that everyone gets a chance to chime in. This meeting will serve as a jumping off point for Ross Barney as they begin to reimagine this space. They want to know how the park is being used now and what changes people would like to see,” said Jim White, Director of Parks and Recreation.

The redesign of Frisco Park was made possible by the Walton Family Foundation’s Design Excellence grant program. The program seeks to elevate the quality of design in Northwest Arkansas by providing financial support to public and nonprofit entities to develop public buildings and spaces that preserve a sense of place and promote the region. Rogers was awarded the grant in late 2017.

Community engagement will continue in the coming months as Ross Barney Architects and city staff work to complete the redesign.
