City Council Approves Special Election

ROGERS-- In a city council meeting on August 22nd, the Rogers City Council voted to
approve a special election to annex unincorporated areas of Benton County. The special election will take place on November 14th, 2017.

The Arkansas legislature has specific procedures for cities to annex land, including a
notice period for people in the affected areas. Per Arkansas law, the first step in the
annexation process is for a city council to call for a special election.

In the coming weeks, city staff will work to notify people and answer questions about the special election or city services.

The areas to be considered for annexation are detailed in the maps below. Polling
information will be shared as soon as it becomes available. An email address has been set up for people to submit questions concerning annexation, and it can be reached at
Cityservices@Rogersar.gov.
