Sections of Lake Atalanta Park to Reopen
Saturday (May 13th)

ROGERS, AR-- The City of Rogers Parks and Recreation Department has been hard at work removing debris and repairing damage at Lake Atalanta. Lake Atalanta park, the Railyard, and many trails throughout the city were significantly damaged after more than a foot of rain fell in Rogers over a 72 hour period.

After two weeks of hard work, Parks and Recreation has reopened the Razorback Greenway in Rogers, and nearly all hard surface trails in the City.

Starting Saturday, May 13th, all trails South of Walnut Street at Lake Atalanta will be open. Clark Pavilion and the adjoining playground will also be open. Everything North of Walnut Street at Lake Atalanta will remain closed. The Railyard is also closed for the time being.

"It's been a hard couple of weeks, but we wanted to reopen as much as we could. Lake Atalanta is so important to our community, and we want it to be safe for everyone that enjoys the park," said Jim White, director of Parks and Recreation.

In the coming weeks, crews are working to open all the trails around the Lake. Multiple City Departments are working to repair the damage in the interior of the park. Two bridges are structurally compromised and will require heavy repairs. The City will release more information, and a timeline for repairs, as soon as possible.

Everything North of Walnut Street will remain closed, and the Rogers Police Department will be enforcing the closure. See the below map for more details on the closed areas.
