[ARCHIVED] Lane Closures on Dixieland Road to begin May 8th for Black Hills Energy Project

Dixieland road lane closure map

Beginning May 8, Black Hills Energy will begin a multi-year, phased project to replace almost three miles of gas transmission pipeline in Rogers. The first construction phase that is expected to be complete in October 2023 will be on South Dixieland Road between West Oak Street and Highway 71/ West Walnut Street.

This construction will require lane closures on South Dixieland Road and full closures on intersecting roads. The traffic control plan includes ensuring that West Pine and West Sycamore streets are not closed at the same time. To begin, closures will be in place at West Poplar Street, West Sherryden Drive, West Cypress Street, and West Pine Street.

“We realize construction work can cause some inconveniences, and every effort will be made to hold them to a minimum and restore the work area to its original state. We appreciate your understanding as we deliver an advanced, modern system that will safely and reliably serve our region for years to come.”

We also wanted to take this opportunity to share how to report a natural gas outage or emergency:

If you smell a gas odor, immediately evacuate from the building or area.

Once you're away from the building, call 911.

Or, if you see damaged lines, leave the area immediately and call 911.

In either case, call Black Hills Energy at 888-890-5554 to report the problem.
