Testing Requirements & Criteria

Entry level firefighter testing requirements and procedures are established by the Rogers Civil Service Commission based on a combination of state law and department policy. For your application to be accepted you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have graduated from high school or achieved a GED certification
  • Have a current CPR card
  • Have passed the CPAT and FireTEAM exams within the past 365 days: all information available at National Testing Network
  • Must have an Arkansas Emergency Medical Technician License or have the ability to gain an Arkansas EMT license via reciprocity. If you are not an EMT you need to successfully complete an EMT program and pass state tests.

  • Must be between the ages of 21-35 at the date of appointment or have previous full-time LOPFI retirement
  • Provide an Affidavit of Non-Smoking (PDF)
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator license
