Accredited StatusCFAI decals 2022-2027 (002)

Accreditation is an ongoing process, not a project, based on the department's continuous improvement. During the five-year cycle, the department must submit annual compliance reports to maintain its accredited status. The department will have to renew its status in 2027.

External Peer Assessment Team

The department's self-assessment produced 32 items that needed to be addressed. Many of those items were addressed as they were identified before the onsite assessment. As part of the process, an external peer assessment team conducted a site visit to validate the department's self-assessment.

The external peer assessment team compiled a report outlining the department's strengths and weaknesses. The team left the department with eight strategic recommendations, ranging from recruitment to external relationships policies. The department is taking steps to meet all the recommendations from the peer assessment team.
