One of the first interchanges of its kind in the State of Arkansas is being constructed by ARDOT on I-49 where Rogers and Bentonville meet at W Walnut St. and SE Walton Blvd.

It's called a single-point urban interchange or SPUI. It’s designed with fewer traffic lights, which helps reduce the number of accidents and improve traffic flow. The project will add through lanes and additional turn lanes to help traffic flow smoothly through the interchange. In turn, the SPUI will also help nearby businesses by relieving traffic congestion. The SPUI is expected to be finished fall 2021.
